About

Hi, I'm Mary and I created The Ultimate Picture Palace as a place to celebrate the Movies with reviews and commentary plus stories of my own film projects for real film fans everywhere.

It's named after one of my favourite independent cinemas, The Ultimate Picture Palace in Oxford.  By modern standards, I'm not sure if The Ultimate Picture Palace even qualifies as a cinema since they don't sell popcorn and the whole thing consisted of a tiny ticket kiosk and one screening room. Walk through the front door and you pretty much find yourself in front the screen - somebody clearly decided that a corridor would be decadent.

That being said, it has an elegantly shabby charm that perfectly captures the faded grandeur of a 1920s movie theatre. A trip to the Ultimate Picture Palace is a ticket to a world where films still have the power to transport and inspire.

So grab your popcorn and Prosecco, dim the lights and indulge in a true taste of cinema at The Ultimate Picture Palace.

Mary
